Spirostreptus spec. 1 “Tanzania”

is a breathtaking millipede species known for its thick, glossy black body and impressive size. Native to the tropical forests of Tanzania, it’s a robust and long-lived species that adds both presence and movement to any invertebrate setup.

These millipedes are large, calm, and burrow-loving, making them ideal for keepers who enjoy observing natural behavior and slow, steady activity.

Environment: Tropical forest setup with deep substrate, decaying wood, and leaf litter
Humidity: moderate; keep substrate damp at all times with occasional misting
Diet: Decaying leaves and rotten wood, soft fruits, vegetables, and calcium sources like cuttlebone
Behavior: Nocturnal, slow-moving, enjoys digging and resting beneath the surface
Temperature: 23–26 °C
