Environment: Mesh cage or ventilated enclosure for adults; containers or fresh-cut host plant branches for larvae
Humidity: Moderate; maintain light humidity and avoid excess moisture during pupation
Diet (larvae): Accepts a wide range of host plants including Betula (birch), Juglans (walnut), Liquidambar (sweetgum), in winter Prunus sp such as laurocerasus and lustanica can be used, Rhododendron is a great foodplant aswell.
Moths do not feed*
Behavior: Larvae are solitary feeders; pupation occurs in loose silk cocoons between leaves or in debris
Temperature: 21–26 °C; cooler temperatures may slow development but are tolerated well
