Armadillidium maculatum “Yellow”

is a breathtaking isopod species known for its striking yellow patterning across a dark grey to black body. The vivid contrast and pillbug-like ability to roll into a ball make it a favorite among collectors and breeders.

These isopods are medium-sized, active, and hardy, making them suitable for both beginner and experienced keepers. Their unique coloration is a rare morph of the classic maculatum species.

Environment: Temperate setup with bark, moss, and leaf litter
Humidity: Moderate; keep one half of the enclosure moist and the other dry
Diet: Decaying leaves, wood, fish flakes, vegetables, and a calcium source
Behavior: Bold, often visible, tolerates handling well
Temperature: 20–24 °C
