Cubaris sp. “Lemon Blue”
is a compact Cubaris species valued in the hobby for its distinct appearance and stable behavior in well-maintained tropical setups. Like many members of the genus, it thrives in high-humidity environments with minimal disturbance and consistent microclimate conditions.
These isopods are small, slow-growing, and humidity-dependent, recommended for experienced keepers familiar with tropical isopod care.
Environment: Tropical enclosure with moist substrate, moss, bark, and limestone or other calcium-rich materials
Humidity: High (85–90%); maintain consistent moisture with limited airflow to retain humidity
Diet: Decaying leaves, soft vegetables, protein-rich foods (e.g. shrimp pellets), and a calcium source
Behavior: Reclusive, often hidden in crevices or burrowed, appreciates undisturbed conditions
Temperature: 22–26 °C
