Homalosilpha sp. (Indonesia)

is a unique cockroach species native to Indonesia, noted for its flat, shield-like body adapted for squeezing into tight crevices. Its subtle, matte coloration and cryptic behavior make it a fascinating addition for advanced invertebrate keepers and collectors.

These cockroaches are small to medium-sized, secretive, and highly adapted to hiding, best kept in well-structured enclosures that mimic forest floor microhabitats.

Environment: Tropical forest setup with stacked bark, leaf litter, and tight hiding spaces
Humidity: High; maintain consistently moist substrate with limited ventilation to retain humidity
Diet: Decaying organic matter, leaf litter, fruits, fish flakes, and calcium-rich supplements
Behavior: Nocturnal, shy, rarely visible during the day, prefers staying hidden
Temperature: 24–27 °C
