Pseudarmadillo spinosus
is a breathtaking isopod species known for its compact size and distinct spiny texture along the edges of its body. Its unusual appearance makes it a prized species among micro-isopod enthusiasts.
These isopods are tiny, reclusive, and slow-reproducing, best suited for advanced keepers familiar with maintaining stable microhabitats.
Environment: Tropical micro setup with moist leaf litter, bark, and mossy cover
Humidity: keep them rather dry with a small part of the box with humid moss
Diet: Decaying leaf matter, fine wood particles, soft vegetables, and powdered calcium
Behavior: Secretive, prefers hiding under debris, slow to establish but rewarding
Temperature: 22–25 °C
