Rhopalomeris sp. “Strawberry”
is a visually striking millipede species, named for its vibrant reddish-pink coloration reminiscent of a strawberry. Native to tropical Southeast Asia, it is admired for its appearance but known among breeders for its fragility and sensitivity to suboptimal conditions.
These millipedes are small to medium-sized, delicate, and humidity-dependent, and are recommended only for experienced invertebrate keepers with the ability to maintain precise environmental control.
Environment: Tropical microhabitat with fine, moist substrate, moss cover, and bark hiding spots
Humidity: Constantly high; avoid fluctuations — enclosure should retain humidity but not stagnate
Diet: Decaying leaf litter, rotten wood, and cuttlebone
Behavior: Extremely reclusive, fragile, prone to stress; prefers deep cover and minimal disturbance
Temperature: 22–25 °C
