Therea olegrandjeani
is a visually striking cockroach species native to India, commonly referred to as the “Question Mark Cockroach” due to the white curved marking on its glossy black pronotum. Its compact size, vibrant contrast, and calm temperament make it one of the most popular ornamental roaches in the hobby.
These roaches are hardy, and beginner-friendly, well-suited for both display setups and breeding projects.
Environment: Tropical setup with deep substrate (e.g. coconut fiber), leaf litter, bark, and hiding spaces
Humidity: Moderate; maintain lightly moist substrate with good airflow
Diet: Leaf litter, vegetables, fruits, fish flakes, and a calcium source
Behavior: Peaceful, ground-dwelling, burrows when disturbed, active at night
Temperature: 24–28 °C
Note: This species breeds well in captivity and is ideal for beginners interested in ornamental roaches. Currently maintained in-house and available depending on population status.
