Eublaberus marajoara
is a striking tropical cockroach native to Brazil, recognized for its vibrant orange and black pattern and glossy texture. This surface-dwelling species does not climb smooth walls, making it easy to house in most enclosures. It is well suited for both hobbyist breeding projects and naturalistic displays.
These roaches are hardy, active, and moderately fast to reproduce once conditions are stable. They thrive in clean, warm, and humid environments with plenty of surface space.
Environment: Spacious bin or terrarium with good ventilation. Use at least 5 centimeters of substrate composed of coconut fiber, leaf litter, and decaying wood. Add flat bark pieces or egg cartons as hides and vertical space
Humidity: Maintain humidity between 60 and 70 percent. Keep part of the substrate moist while leaving other areas dry to prevent mold. Occasional misting is advised depending on ambient climate
Diet: Feed a mix of decaying leaves and wood as base diet. Supplement with fruits, vegetables, fish flakes, and a protein source such as dog kibble or dried insects. Provide a constant calcium source like cuttlebone or powdered eggshell
Behavior: Eublaberus marajoara is surface active, social, and primarily nocturnal. Nymphs and adults congregate under hides but will explore and feed openly. They do not climb smooth plastic or glass and are generally non-aggressive
Temperature: Best kept between 24 and 28 degrees Celsius. Short exposure to 30 degrees is tolerated, but development slows significantly below 22 degrees
