Rothschildia inca 

Overview: Rothschildia inca is a South American Saturniid found in South-America, part of the diverse Rothschildia genus known for its large size, translucent "window" spots on the wings, and robust cocoons. Like most Rothschildia species, it is considered relatively easy to breed and is popular among both beginner and experienced Lepidoptera keepers.

Environment: Mesh cage or other well ventilated enclosure for adults. Provide fresh cut host plant branches in water for larvae.

Humidity: Moderate. Mist lightly and ensure good airflow to prevent mold, particularly around pupation sites.

Diet (larvae): Larvae are polyphagous and typically accept a wide range of host plants including Ligustrum (privet), Prunus (cherry), Salix (willow), and Liquidambar (sweetgum).

Behavior: Young larvae may feed in loose groups while older instars become more solitary. Pupation occurs in strong silk cocoons, often attached to a twig by a silk stem.

Temperature: 23–30°C is ideal. Cooler temperatures slow development but are tolerated.
